Re: reducing clutter: One thing we have done to cut down on clutter is to host birthday parties for our kids with no gifts and no party favors from friends. This has many advantages: With 3 kids and 18+ birthday parties each, can you imagine the amount of stuff that could be in our house that is not? And, if no gifts, then no pressure for party favors, which are many times just landfill. I have found that the kids just really want to run around with their friends during their parties anyway, and they don’t end up caring about the presents (they still get presents from family members). Another bonus is that it saves your friends the time and energy of having to shop and spend the extra money on your kids. After a while, other parents catch on, and then you don’t have to shop and spend money on their kids either. Win, win!

The other day I realized I hardly ever just play with my kids! What a tragedy! I enjoyed this as a reminder to focus on what’s best for us and often that can’t be what everyone else is doing, especially as we eat similar to how you post. Those little commitments to doing things right, can really add up! I feel like I’m babbling now.. lol anyways, we have enjoyed your blog for you so thank you!

I ended up highlighting pretty much everything.

This is so good. Even if I just implement one of these things, my life would improve dramatically.

Thank you. 🙂

That’s been the hardest with a baby this last year. My partner and I feel disconnected. Besides therapy…any advice?

How do we get over that hump?
