So far their best argument- which now has me wondering- is …wouldn’t these high intensity work outs be more likely to lead to injuries (especially for older folks)?

Homeschooling mom here. With COVID I’d like to ditch the gym however I am in search of a at-home work out program for my son who is a sophomore this year…since bball was cancelled…I am wondering if you, Wellnessmama, or any of your followers have any suggestions? My stepson let me borrow his P90X but it looks a little TOO intense for my 16 year old. Any YouTube suggestions?

Sprints along with running hills (I prefer real hills to the treadmill) dropped my 3mi run til from 30:32… Barely passing only 5 months after having my daughter to 26:00 the next year. Still not spectacular, but close to personal best. I love running, I’m just not a fast runner.

I HAVE to be in nature for it to count. So by having comfy shoes that will hopefully feel better on my joints, I would LOVE to start running again! My doggy (Murphy) will thank me, too!

My goal is to able to do a deadhang pullup by my next birthday. I also dance a couple nights a week and have just started trapeze classes (which will help for that pullup goal!) I should really sprint more and am going to make a renewed effort to just get out and run! Thanks for the encouragement!! (I love all your posts btw)

She is my motivation. If i feel tired in the morning all i have to do is look at her and she lays on the floor and groans until i get up and grab my running shoes.  I also just recently started doing strength training with my husband at the gym about 3 days a week. Strength training is something i have never done, it’s starting to grow on me and i’m enjoying  the change in my body!

I love running, but that will have to wait until I have a knee injury repaired.

I am just not a traditional tennis shoe gal. As far as other plans, I love lifting but get turned off by complicated routines… I am going to use your 10 minute guide to help me plan something I can stick to: deadlifts, lunges, pull-ups, push-ups and planks to start with. PLUS, I really want to find a kettlebell. I love lifting heavy and I love feeling strong and I feel that your plan is something I can do more regularly which will help me get and stay there! BTW, I am pretty close to Nashville, I wish I could be ready to run in September, too!

The structure is great to ensure I keep going, but I am working on developing an at-home supplementary routine for another 1-2 days a week for a shorter duration.

I run from time to time as well, but I enjoy running more during the cooler months.

It’s only about 1 1/4 mile each way, and I have a great little daypack to carry my lunch and work clothes. I get an especially good workout if I’m running a little late!

So far I haven’t managed to get sprints worked in, but that’s my goal for the next two weeks – sprint once a week and strength training (body weight exercises like those listed in the post) twice a week.
I’ve also been trying to walk at least half an hour every day.
